Prishtina, 22.03.2022 – On the occasion of World Water Day, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli visited the Regional Water Company “Hidroregjioni Jugor” J.S.C. in Prizren, where she met with the Chief Executive Officer of this enterprise, Zenel Zenelaj, as well as managers of respective departments.
 
Minister Rizvanolli and the representatives of the “Hidroregjoni Jugor” company discussed about the construction of new accumulation reservoirs to provide drinking water and irrigation, namely the expansion of irrigation, construction of wastewater treatment plants, and increase of access of regional water companies to the public network.
 
Given that the supply of drinking water is vital for the well-being of citizens, Minister Rizvanolli stated that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, respectively the Ministry which is led by her shall continue to support regional water companies by ensuring protection and good management of water resources whereby water for sustainable economic development will be secured.
 
Minister Rizvanolli also visited the sewage plant and the underground water gallery where she saw directly the projects that have been implemented during 2021, which amount to nearly 19.5 million euros, projects that are funded by KFW, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, and the Municipality of Prizren.
