Minister Rizvanolli at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue Conference 2024

Prishtina, 19.03.2024 – Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, upon invitation from the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, and the German Vice Chancellor, Robert Habeck, participated today in the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) Conference 2024, focused on the topic “Accelerating the Global Energy Transition”.

This is the 10th edition of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue held at the Federal Foreign Office from 19 to 20 March 2024, attended by experts, policymakers, and government officials from over 50 countries and it is one of the most significant conferences in the energy sector.

The opening of the conference, focusing on the future of energy, was conducted by the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, and Vice Chancellor, Robert Habeck.

Minister Rizvanolli, along with the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning, and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, shared their experiences with the attendees.

In her speech, as part of the discussion on the theme “Center of Dialogue: Decarbonization of the Economy”, Minister Rizvanolli stated that energy efficiency is one of the key objectives of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, reflected in the Energy Strategy 2022-2031.

She outlined the work in establishing new energy standards and also in decarbonizing the economy, interconnected in two pillars: enhancing energy and efficient heating.

Minister Rizvanolli shared the successful experience of the Ministry of Economy, mentioning that through energy-saving measures, we have subsidized nearly 10,000 families with efficient equipment in 2022, resulting in energy savings of nearly 19% and an increase in awareness.

Apart from subsidizing families, she highlighted the work on improving Energy Efficiency (EE) in public buildings, where in the last two years, EE measures have been implemented in more than 100 public buildings such as schools, municipalities, hospitals, government institutions, resulting in a 70% energy savings.

The Energy Transition Dialogue is supported by the Federal Government of Germany and is a joint initiative of the German Renewable Energy Federation.
