Minister Pula supports the “7 September” School in Gerqina

Prishtina, 9 October 2009 – Minister of Energy and Mines, Justina Shiroka – Pula, visited on Friday village Gerqina, part of Municipality of Gjakova, using the occasion to donate a number of computers for its primary school “7 September”.

During this visit, Minister Pula was accompanied by the spouse of the Prime Minister, Ms. Lumnije Thaci, Member of Parliament Safete Hadergjonaj and the PDK candidate for Gjakova Municipality Mayor, Mr. Ilir Bytyqi.

Minister Pula thanked the teachers of aforementioned school for the warm welcome, promising that this would not be the last donation to be provided for its pupils, since Kosovo’s children and youth represent is future. I promise that the Ministry of Energy and Mines will provide the students of this region with scholarships, thus repaying Has for its contribution for the freedom of Kosovo – she said.

On the other hand, school director, Xhafer Sylmetaj, evaluated highly the supported of Minister Justina Shiroka – Pula, and expressed his gratitude for the donation as well as his concerns regarding the state of his school. The Assembly of Kosovo member of parliament, Safete Hadergjonaj, said that Has supported all national movements in their most difficult times, and that not it was the time for the institutions to support this region in all spheres, especially in education and provision of necessary equipment and appliances that will bring education to the pedestal it deserves.

Minister Pula and the accompanying party further visited the “7 September” school premises and left Gerqina in hope that in the future this village will also be part of the positive changes in the country.
