Prishtina, 15 October 2009 – The Minister of Energy and Mines, Justina
Shiroka – Pula was received by the Ambassador of the United States in
Kosovo, Christopher Dell, with whom she discussed on the most recent
developments in the energy sector.

At this occasion, Minister Pula notified the USA Ambassador on the
development phases of the energy sector projects as well as on the
challages faced by the sector. She emphasized that MEM is engaged
twoards the completion of the energy sector legal and regulatory
framework.

The Minister expressed her gratitude to the American Embassy for the
support it provided for the development of the energy sector in Kosovo
and vowed for further close cooperation.

At this occasion, both discussants agreed that the institutions are to
advance all projects in close cooperation with the USA Embassy, USAID,
the European Commission and other stakeholders, while respecting the
energy sector policies.

On the other hand, Ambassador Dell reconfirmed the USA support for
Kosovo in the field of energy, deemed the basis for the country’s
economic development.
