Minister Lluka met with the Executive Director of AmCham, Arian Zeka, to discuss economic development in the country

Prishtina, 18.09.2017 – Economic development in the country, with particular emphasis on the sectors covered by MED, were among the topics that the Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka discussed in the meeting held today with the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, AmCham, Arian Zeka.

On this occasion, Minister Lluka appreciated the role of the AmCham in supporting businesses through active participation in policy and legislative drafting process, emphasizing that the cooperation between the AmCham and MED will continue.

Minister Lluka asked for the American Chamber of Commerce to become a liaison bridge between American companies and powerful investors in the interest of Kosovo and MED.

The head of MED focused on the importance of developing strategic sectors such as energy, mining, information technology and publicly owned enterprises, as a prerequisite for sustainable economic development.

From his part, AmCham Executive Director Arian Zeka thanked Minister Lluka for the readiness to further advance the cooperation between the two institutions in order to improve the environment for business development, respectively economic development.

Among other issues discussed were the regular and stable supply of energy, developments in RES and improvement of Energy Efficiency.
