Minister Kuçi Receives New Head of EU Office /EUSR Tomáš Szunyog

 

Prishtina, 07.10.2020 – The Minister of Economy and Environment (MEE), Blerim Kuçi, received today the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative, Tomáš Szunyog, who was accompanied by the Deputy Head of the EU Office Riccardo Serri and the Economic Section Officer, Syzana Bytyçi-Jagxhiu.

 

This first visit by the new Head of the EU Office/EUSR focused on an overview of the projects being implemented by the European Union Office in areas related to the mandate of the Ministry of Economy and Environment, as well as the newly approved Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans centering on digitization and green economy.

 

Ambassador Szunyog said that the European Union will continue to support Kosovo, further elaborating how the Investment Plan will contribute to a sustainable economy and to overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

On the other hand, Minister Blerim Kuçi stated that they are concentrated on the path of European integration and in the implementation of green economy principles.

 

Further, Minister Kuçi informed Ambassador Szunyog about the developments in advancing policies and actions in support of renewable energy.

 

In this spirit, the EU Ambassador to Kosovo and the Minister of Economy and Environment agreed to meet more often, as the scope of the MEE requires such cooperation in terms of investment and future program orientations.
