Minister Kuçi and German Ambassador Rohde discussed about economic projects and increase of exports to Germany

 

Prishtina, 07.09.2020 – The Minister of Economy and Environment, Blerim Kuçi received today in a meeting the new German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde. Along with the German ambassador, were also his deputy, Jan-Axel Voss and the director of the German-Kosovar Business Association, Nora Hasani.

 

Several topics were discussed between Ambassador Rohde and Minister Kuçi, including Kosovo’s international agreements, including the recent agreement in Washington, for which the Minister said that they were waiting the return of the Kosovo team to establish the agreement points management plan.

 

As regards the Innovation and Training Park in Prizren, a project for which MEE has allocated a budget, it was concluded that it will move forward with rapid steps, as the interest to develop activities in this park is of great importance.

 

The topic of the meeting was also energy, which has received a greater focus and support from MEE, where the Germans are already conducting studies to see exactly the development of renewable energy in order to promote the fulfilment of the quota for this type of energy.

 

Ambassador Rohde emphasized that in his mandate as ambassador he is interested in advancing economic development, by increasing the export of Kosovar products to Germany, and by channelling the million € remittances coming from this country. For this, Minister Kuçi offered his full support.
Minister Blerim Kuçi and Ambassador Jörn Rohde were on the same frequencies of cooperation, also in investment and assistance strategies when it comes to adapting to economic recovery programs due to COVID-19.
