Minister Ismajli receives the Italian Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Andreas Ferrarese

Prishtina, 11 November 2013 – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, met today with the Italian Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Andreas Ferrarese, with whom he discussed on possibilities for advancing economic cooperation.

Minister Ismajli used the occasion to express his gratitude to the Italian diplomat for the assistance his country gave and continues to give to Kosovo, while informing him on MED’s orientations for achieving a sustainable economic development in the country.

The meeting was also used to discuss on the establishment of a common mechanism for attraction of foreign investments, and development of small and medium enterprises through Kosovo-Italy dialogue.

Minister Ismajli underlined that one of MED’s priorities is the development of new energy generation capacities, as a prerequisite for economic development and economization of energy resources in Kosovo, as well as for enhanced energy efficiency and development of renewable sources in other sectors too.

Ambassador Ferrarese emphasized that Italy will continue to support Kosovo in the future in accomplishing its economic development objectives, while praising the good cooperation to date.

Both parties expressed interest in organizing a common conference for attracting investments in Kosovo’s priority sectors from various donors and businesses, which would help in raising the country’s economic performance.
