Minister Ismajli meets KEDS senior management

14.08.2013 – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, appraised today the significance of reaching objectives of the Government of Kosovo’s decision to privatize KEDS, as well as the significance of the fulfillment of contractual obligations deriving from the agreements pertaining to the sale and purchase of shares of the Kosovo Electricity Distribution and Supply Company (KEDS), the purpose of which was advancement of energy supply, reduction of losses and improved service provision.

Minister Ismajli informed that the Government of Kosovo continues to oversee the implementation of this important project in the post-privatization phase, being that KEDS continues to remain a company that exercises public and strategic functions for Kosovo.

The Head of MED made these comments during the meeting held with KEDS’s Board Director, Nihat Ozdemir, and KEDS’s Chairman of Executive Board, Nuretin Turkougly.

The meeting participants concluded that KEDS is working towards fulfilling all obligations deriving from the contract and other documents signed between the Government of Kosovo and KEDS.

Minister Ismajli underlined the significance of adhering to the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to ensure employment for KEK employees transferred to KEDS and requested KEDS’s maximum engagement towards meeting its obligations related to investments and corporate social responsibility requirements, while complying with the highest European environmental standards.
