Minister Ismajli meets British Ambassador Ian Cliff

Prishtina, 01 August 2013 – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, met today with the Ambassador of United Kingdom in Prishtina, Ian Cliff, accompanied by his deputy Joe Preston, and representative of CEO Greenhouse Capital O’Riley Collins, with whom he discussed on the possibilities for advancing economic cooperation.

Minister Ismajli used the occasion to express his gratitude to the British diplomat on the support his country has given and continues to give to Kosovo, while informing him on MED’s orientations towards a sustainable economic development, and on investment possibilities in various spheres including road and railroad infrastructure, with the aim of connecting the country with the region and beyond.

The Head of MED underlined the Government’s engagement for the improvement of services for its citizens, by increasing the performance of Publicly-Owned Enterprises, while making note of the important contribution given by friendly nations to this end.

Also, Minister Ismajli emphasized that one of MED’s priorities remains the development of new energy generation capacities, as a prerequisite for economic development and valorization of Kosovo’s energy resources, as well as improved energy efficiency and utilization of renewable energy sources.

Minister Ismajli welcomed the interest of CEO Greenhouse Capital for expanding its activities in Kosovo, as a provider of professional advisory services in the development of strategies for capital development, investment proposals, etc., taking into consideration its experience and expertise in the sphere of precious metal processing.

For his part, Ambassador Cliff reemphasized continuous support that the United Kingdom will give Kosovo in the future in achieving its objectives related to economic development, while praising the good cooperation to date.
