Minister Beqaj receives the Macedonian Ambassador in Kosovo, Stojan Karajanov

Prishtina, 26 September 2011 – Minister of Economic Development (MED), Besim Beqaj, met the Macedonian Ambassador in Kosovo, Stojan Karajanov. The topic of discussion was the organization of the Kosovo-Macedonia Business Forum, expected to be organized in mid October with an initiative of Minister Beqaj.

Minister Beqaj used the opportunity to thank Ambassador Karajanov for the readiness of Macedonia to participate in the Forum, and said that he expects concrete results to the benefit of the private sector of both countries.

From his part, Ambassador Karajanov thanked Minister Beqaj for his initiative to organize the Forum, which will deepen the cooperation between the countries. The business forum will be attended by senior officials from Kosovo and Macedonia, the business community of both countries, with a possibility to meet and discuss future alternatives of economic cooperation between the countries.

Another topic of discussion in the Forum shall be the implementation of the economic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries.
Minister Beqaj, also received representatives of Austrian company SOLARINVEST to discuss on investment potentials for renewable energy generation. On this occasion, Minister Beqaj assured representatives of SOLARINVEST that Kosovo is an attractive country for foreign investors, which are equally treated with the local ones, guaranteed by the applicable legislation, which is in line with the EU acquis.

SOLARINVEST representatives have presented concrete investment projects in the sector, particularly in solar energy generation.
