Prishtina, 08.03.2013 – Minister of Economic Development met today with Prof. Dr. Friedbert Pfluger, Director of the EU Center for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS), former President of the Bundestag Committee on EU Affairs, and Consultant of renowned clean energy technology companies, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Germany, Skender Xhakaliu, and Deputy Ambassador of Germany in Kosovo, Matthias Kiesler.

On this occasion, Minister Beqaj discussed on the recent developments in the country, with special emphasis in economy, and informed his guests on ongoing energy projects in Kosovo and relevant reforms in the sector.

Economic Minister said that Republic of Kosovo is interested to build new energy generation capacities, such as “Kosova e Re Power Plant” Project, with advanced technologies, protecting the environment.

Minister Beqaj also informed Mr. Pfluger on measures MED has undertaken to enhance energy efficiency and develop renewable energy sources, and ongoing preparations with the World Bank and European Commission in the organization of the Energy Conference.

From his part, Prof. Dr. Friedbert Pfluger thanked Minister Beqaj on the detailed information provided, as he is recently involved heavily in the energy sector, and expressed his readiness for cooperation.
