Prishtina, 16 January 2013 – Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, had an introductory meeting today with the French Ambassador in Kosovo, Maryse Daviet, with whom he discussed on the recent developments in the country, with specific focus on economic development.

At this occasion, Minister Beqaj informed the recently appointed French Ambassador on projects currently developed in relevant spheres covered by MED, including development of new energy capacities, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of renewable energy capacities, and other projects in telecommunications and infrastructure.

Beqaj noted that Republic of Kosovo provides a good investment opportunity for French investors, while underlining that the country has a rather favorable legal framework.

Head of MED expressed his gratitude for the support France is giving to Kosovo in all processes, emphasizing that economic development should be given special focus in respective bilateral relations.

For her part, French Ambassador Maryse Daviet thanked Minister Beqaj for the information provided, confirming that France will continue to support Kosovo.
