Prishtina, October 23, 2009 – A meeting on Gas was organized by the MEM Office for European Integration. Participants from the meeting were actors of the energy sector, including MEM, ERO, KOSTT and KEK.

Also present in the meeting was the representative of the Energy Community Treaty (ECT) Alfred Schuch. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the enhancement of the legislation on Gas, development the legal infrastructure on Gas, in order to meet the requirements of the EU Directive on this area.

MEM officials stated that MEM is engaged in completing the legislation in line with European Directives, and aiming to mark the first of Kosovo’s connection into the International Gas Network. Officials of the Ministry of Energy and Mining were commended on the drafting of the Law on Gas, which has been adopted by the Kosovo Assembly.
