MED guarantees regular electricity supply during elections

Prishtina, 20.05.2014 – PRISHTINA – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, and President of the Central Election Commission, Valdete Daka, signed today a memorandum of understanding according to which MED undertakes to ensure regular energy supply during the 8 June electoral process.

Minister Ismajli underlined that the memorandum provides for secure electricity supply for CEC, its facilities and all counting centers, with the aim of ensuring all conditions necessary for a successful electoral process.

“Stable electricity supply during the electoral process is of special significance, as means to guarantee the welfare of the electoral process, as a key democratic test for the country,” Ismajli said.

CEC President, Valdete Daka, added after the signature of the memorandum that electricity supply is one of the prerequisites for CEC to discharge its competencies based on its mandate.

According to the said memorandum, CEC shall supply MED with the layout of all specified voting centers, addresses of CEC offices, municipal election commission offices and all voting centers and voting stations.
