Prishtina 11.03.2019 – Based on the joint interest to coordinate activities related to the energy sector, particularly to promote energy efficiency, the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Valdrin Lluka, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mayor of the Municipality of Kamenica, Mr. Qendron Kastrati, aiming to improve public lightning.

The Ministry of Economic Development will provide a support in the amount of EUR 67 thousand to the Municipality of Kamenica with the purpose of improving public lightning in the municipality, whereas the Municipality of Kamenica will allocate EUR 7 thousand for this project.

Minister Lluka expressed his gratitude for achieving this agreement, which inter alia will make street lighting more efficient.

“I am pleased to have signed this memorandum, which will not only change street lightning, but will make it even more efficient”, stated Minister Lluka.

Upon signing this Memorandum the purpose is to create opportunities for implementing the pilot project “Promoting Energy Efficiency at local level by implementing Energy Efficiency measures”.

This Memorandum of Cooperation is part of the National Energy Efficiency Plan, which contributes to the fulfilment of Kosovo’s obligations in relation to the Energy Community Treaty.
