Measures in the amount of 75 million EUR of the EU introduced; Call for application for municipalities for multi-apartment social housing opened
Pristina, 7 April 2023 – Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti along with Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli, Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers Hekuran Murati, Minister of Local Government Administration Elbert Krasniqi, Deputy Head of Cooperation Section at the EU Office in Kosovo Alessandro Bianciardi, and Managing Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund Ahmet Ismaili, held a meeting today with the Mayors of the municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation and interinstitutional coordination between the Government and the municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo. The emergency package measures worth 75 million euros from the European Union, to address the European energy crisis, were also discussed.
During the meeting, the measures that will be implemented by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, and the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund were presented. The following measures will be implemented from the Emergency Package:
Subsidies worth 10 million euros (ME) for efficient appliances for families
Subsidies worth 5 million euros (ME) for efficient appliances for small and medium-sized businesses
Direct financial support worth 25 million euros (MFLT) for families in need
Direct financial support worth 15 million euros (MFLT) to promote savings
Investments worth 10 million euros (KEEF) in energy efficiency of private housing
Investments worth 10 million euros (KEEF) in energy efficiency of multi-apartment buildings intended for social housing.
The Mayors were informed that the Call for application for the final measure, namely investments in energy efficiency of multi-apartment buildings intended for social housing, is open from today.
These measures aim to protect citizens and businesses from the impact of the European energy crisis by increasing energy efficiency and savings, with a special focus on citizens in need.
