Lluka stated in Gjakova: “Energy sector will generate thousands of jobs in the 10 coming years”

Prishtina, 03.10.2019 – Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka, attended the International Forum for Youth and Green Jobs 2019, with the following themes: environmental protection, renewable energy, youth employment and education.

This event was attended by French Ambassador to Kosovo, Marie Christine Butel, Greece Ambassador to Kosovo, Chrissoula Aliferi, and Deputy Head of Mission – Embassy of Switzerland in Kosovo, Mrs. Gacaferri and Director of the Regional Bureau of International Organization of Francophonie, Rennie Yotova.

During his speech, Minister Lluka stated that billions of euros are foreseen to be invested in 10 coming years, generating thousands of jobs.

“Kosovo is at the final phase of assuming new obligations towards European Union directives through the joint regional strategy for climate and energy for the 10 coming years. This Strategy foresees billions of Euros investment in 10 years, which will generate thousands of jobs in Kosovo”, stated Luka.

He also stated “if we ensure the education of our youth, green jobs will be generated the most”.

“Kosovo is the youngest country in Europe. Youth, if properly engaged, represents its greatest asset and this is the most important age group of the population. Green jobs will be generated the most in the 20 coming years, but we should ensure to not fail in the youth education in these fields”, stated Lluka.
