Lluka promises Prizren villages investments in the water and sewage network

Prishtina, 04.04.2018 – The Government of Kosovo, with the Municipality of Prizren, is ready to invest to ensure that villages of this municipality are integrated in the water and sewerage network, thus ending this problem faced by the residents of this municipality, said the Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka.

Minister Lluka made these comments today during his visit in the Municipality of Prizren, accompanied by MP Emilia Rexhepi. He also held separate meetings with the mayor of the municipality, Mytaher Haskuka, heads of RWC ‘Hidroregjioni Jugor’ and residents of village of Ljubinjë e Epërme.

Lluka said that the reason for the visit in Prizren is his interest to ensure that this municipality has an even greater economic development, emphasizing the need to activate the economic zone, adding that the key issue was solving the problem of water supply for the villages of Prizren and the sewage network.

“The integration of the villages of the Prizren municipality in the water system is very important because we have villages that do not have safe water supply, and we need to ensure their integration”, he added.

The Economic Minister also informed the attendees that there a donation, which aism to ensure the integration of villages in the water-supply system, but added that there is a need for support from the Ministry of Finance and MPs.

From his part, the Mayor of Prizren, Mytaher Haskuka, said that with Minister Lluka they discussed on many issues relevant for economic development in Prizren as well as in Kosovo.

He said that the issue of the economic zone in Prizren was also discussed, as well as waste recycling of waste, and the issue of integrating into the “Hidroregjioni” water supply network of many villages currently outside this system.

As part of this visit, Minister Lluka, together with MP Emilia Rexhepi, also met with residents of the village of Ljubinjë e Epërme, to discuss the problems they face, and promised they will soon invest in the water supply and sewage network, thus meeting their needs.

Otherwise, Lubinje e Eperme of Prizren has 3055 residents, with 550 households, and still lacks water supply and sewage network.
