Lluka meets senior World Bank executives in Washington and discusses on concrete projects

Prishtina, 15.10.2017 – The Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka, part of the Kosovo delegation comprising the Minister of Finance, and accompanied by the Kosovo Ambassador in USA, Vlora Çitaku, met today with the World Bank’s Vice President for Europe and Asia, Cyril Muller, and World Bank Vice President for Sustainable Development, Laura Tuck, during the recent official visit to the United States.

Minister Lluka was very concrete in his demands for financing Kosovo’s developmental projects, with special focus on the Kosova e Re Thermal Power Plant project, Agrobusiness project and Digital Economy project in the sphere of information technology.

Head of MED informed World Bank executives on the flow of projects currently supported by this financial institution in Kosovo, including those in the energy sphere, development of new generation capacities, and enhancement of energy efficiency.

Minister Lluka thanked World Bank executives on the continuous support given to our country, with a focus on economic development, emphasizing that said support is necessary for the development of abovementioned sectors.

Minister Lluka is visiting the United States as part of the Republic of Kosovo’s delegation taking part in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, held in Washington DC.
