Prishtina, 07.11.2018 – Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka met today with the General Secretary for international economic issues and cooperation in the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Brachos, accompanied by a Greek state delegation.

The meeting was used to discuss possibilities of increasing economic cooperation between two countries, enhancing inter-institutional cooperation, increasing trade exchange and providing opportunities for sharing best practices in the sphere of economic development.

Minister Lluka informed the Greek delegation on economic developments in our country, Kosovo’s capital projects and objectives to create a climate for attracting foreign investors, especially in the fields of IT, energy and metallurgy. Also, the head of MED spoke on the significance of the Connectivity Agenda between Western Balkans countries, towards the establishment of a common economic zone.

Minister Lluka informed the Greek state delegation on the innovative park project in Prizren. “Kosovo aims to become a regional center for the development of information technology sector,” Minister Lluka said promising that Kosovo businesses will be present in the Economic Forum to be held in Athens in the beginning of next year, which aims to enhance economic cooperation.

On the other hand, the Greek Secretary for Economic Issues, Brachos, thanked Minister Lluka for the reception and cooperation, adding that Greece is ready to elevate the cross-state cooperation to a higher level on all issues that will help economic growth of the two countries.
“We are here to see the opportunities for increasing economic cooperation between two countries. We would like to elevate the cooperation to another level, in order to increase the trade exchange between our countries, exchange good economic experiences and increase mutual investments,” said the General Secretary for International Economic Issues and Development Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Minister Lluka used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the departing Greek Ambassador, Constantina Athanassiadou, for the cooperation to date, and to offer readiness and his cooperation to the new Greek Ambassador in Prishtina, Chryssoula Aliferi, accompanying Secretary Brachos.
