Lluka informs Ambassador Heldt of the priorities of MED

Prishtina, 18.10.2017 – Federal Republic of Germany will continue to support the Republic of Kosovo in its economic development, the German Ambassador in Prishtina Christian Heldt said today in the meeting with the Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka.

Minister Lluka informed the German diplomat with the priorities of the ministry he heads, emphasizing strategic sectors, the development of which also enjoyed German support.

Head of MED underlined that sectors like energy, mines, waters and information technology are key for sustainable development, therefore his efforts during this mandate will be focused on these sectors.

Further, in his elaboration of concrete projects, the Minister expressed his gratitude to Germany for the immense support granted to the country’s energy and waters sectors, respectively in the development of the Kosovo-Albania interconnection line and the water factory in Shkabaj, to name mere some of the projects with direct influence on the quality of our citizens’ lives.

Minister Lluka reconfirmed MED’s interest to continue the cooperation, acknowledging that Germany is a key strategic partner for the country’s economic development.

Minister Lluka and Ambassador Heldt also discussed the performance of a number of projects of capital significance for the country, reclaiming that the bilateral cooperation between countries is very good, but should be further advanced in the economic aspect.
