Kosovo aims to achieve international waste management standards

Prishtina, 24.09.2013 – Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, met today in a working meeting with representatives of KPMG, REDISA and Kusaga, international organizations involved in the waste management and recycling sectors.

In this meeting, Minister Ismajli informed them on the country’s developments, particularly in the waste management sector, and the interest of the Government of Kosovo to further develop this sector which is important for environment protection, in line with international standards.

From their part, representatives of organizations in question presented their profiles and experiences in waste management, and expressed their readiness to transfer this knowhow in the Republic of Kosovo, particularly in drafting the legal framework.

KPMG, REDISA and Kusaga are known for their experience and expertise in industrial waste management, including medicinal waste, old rubber, mining residues, etc.
