Japan will continue to support Kosovo

Prishtina, 02 December 2013 – Deputy-Minister of Economic Development, Gani Koci, met today with the Deputy-Ambassador of Japan in Austria, non-resident in Kosovo, Isamu Yamaguchi, with whom he discussed on the recent developments in the country, with emphasis on developments related to economy.

Deputy-Minister Koci used the occasion to inform the Japanese diplomat on projects under development in the sectors of energy, mining and other sectors covered by MED, which are ascertained as key for the country’s economic development.

Deputy-Minister Koci thanked the Deputy-Ambassador of Japan on the support that the Japanese Government has provided Kosovo, and in special its Publicly-Owned Enterprises, through JICA.

The counterparts discussed on the need to intensify cooperation between the respective chambers of commerce, in order to identify relevant cooperation spheres and investment attraction possibilities.

For his part, Japanese diplomat Isamu Yamaguchi underlined the good cooperation between both countries, expressing his readiness to deepen such cooperation in the future, especially in the sphere of economy.
