Hungary interested for investments in the Energy and Mining field
Prishtina, 9 dhjetor 2009 – On Wednesday, deputy-minister of Energy and Mines Dr.Tech. Blerim Rexha accompanied with Adviser Dr.Tech. Bedri Dragusha, held a reception for a Hungarian delegation lead by Jeno Faler, state-secretary and deputy-minister of Foreign Affairs, Tamas Magda, chief of the Hungarian Balkans Department and Agnes Kovago, Political Advisor at the Hungarian Balkans Department.
The meeting was aimed at notifying the Hungarian party with the achievements in the energy field in Kosovo, as well as on the cooperation between the two countries in the energy and mining sector. Using the occasion, deputy-minister of Energy and Mines Dr. Tech. Blerim Rexha, informed those present on all energy projects developed by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) emphasizing that the commitments towards the advancement of the energy sector represent a priority for the Government of Kosovo. “Advancements in the energy and mining sector are at the focus of the Government of Kosovo and we are seriously engaged to make all the achievements of this field tangable” said Rexha. At this occasion, he also notified the Hungarian party on the “New Kosova” Thermal Power Plant Project and the Hydro Power-Plant development, and on the MEM engagement to have all steps undertaken in conformity with European Union requirements.
On the other hand, the Hungarian group informed deputy-minister Rexha that the Hungarian state is interested to invest in Kosovo, respectively in the energy and mining sector, claiming that Hungary will soon initiate steps in cooperation, including the signature of a cooperation memorandum between Kosovo and Hungary.
