Greece is ready for close cooperation with the Republic of Kosovo

Prishtina, 13.4.2016  – Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Besa Zogaj – Gashi, had a meeting with the head of the Greek Liaison Office in Pristina, Constantina Athanassiadou, accompanied by the Secretary General for International Economic Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr. Yiorgos Tsipras, with whom he discussed on economic cooperation between the two countries which, according to the parties, should continue to be strengthened.

In the meeting, Deputy Minister Gashi informed Mrs. Athanassiadou on the work of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in the field of economic reforms and economic development, adding that preparations are being made for the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement which will open many opportunities for Kosovo companies to export their products and services in the European market.

Gashi also requested the Greek counterparts to eliminate barriers of doing business between the two countries, which would open greater development opportunities for the economies of the two countries.

On the other hand, Secretary Tsipras informed his counterparts on economic developments in Greece, expressing the readiness of Greece for closer economic cooperation with the Republic of Kosovo, which would have positive benefits for the economies of both countries.

In addition, both sides agreed to continue joint events, including economic forums, to the benefit of both countries with concrete projects.
