Five wagons of “Trainkos” are rehabilitated, with the support of the Ministry of Economy in the amount of 423 thousand euros

Prishtina, 16 July 2026 – The acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, accompanied by Deputy Ministers Getuar Mjeku and Triera Kasumi Berisha, members of the Board of “Trainkos”, as well as the Chief Executive Officer, Agron Statovci, traveled by train from Prishtina to Peja, emphasizing the importance of the development of rail transport and investments in this sector.

This trip was made on the occasion of the presentation of five passenger wagons, which have been fully repaired with the financial support of the Ministry of Economy, where the operational lifespan of each wagon is extended by about 800 thousand additional kilometers, significantly improving safety, reliability and quality of service for passengers.

On this occasion, Minister Rizvanolli emphasized the importance of the development of railway transport and investments in this sector and announced that “Trainkos” has put into operation five repaired wagons with the support of the Ministry of Economy in the amount of 423 thousand euros.

“This investment shows our commitment to providing more modern, safer and more efficient public transport for all citizens,” she said.

On the other hand, the Chief Executive Officer of “Trainkos”, Agron Statovci, noted the significant operational and financial progress of the company, where since 2021, the cost of the service has decreased by 55.96%, the operating services by 79.09%, while the revenues have increased by 54.16%.

The commissioning of these rehabilitated wagons will increase transport capacities, improve the quality and convenience of public services, as well as directly contribute to the further development of the railway network in the country.
