Bled, 28 August 2023 – Deputy Minister of Economy in the Republic of Kosovo, Getoar Mjeku, held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Digital Transformation of the Republic of Slovenia, Emilija Stojmenova, within the framework of the Bled Strategic Forum 2023.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Mjeku was accompanied by the Advisor to Prime Minister Kurti for the ICT sector, Lulëzon Jagxhiu.

Minister Stojmenova congratulated Deputy Minister Mjeku for achieving 100% coverage of the territory in the Republic of Kosovo with high-speed internet, considering this achievement highly commendable. She informed Deputy Minister Mjeku that Slovenia is currently working in the same direction and aims to achieve this by 2030.

Furthermore, she commended the Republic of Kosovo for the significant percentage of women in the ICT sector, which stands at over 50% at the university level.

The parties discussed excellent cooperation between the two countries in general, as well as in the ICT sector in particular, where Slovenia is a partner of Kosovo.

The discussions covered the development of workforce capacity building, the development of the Innovation and Technology Park, as well as the momentum of the private ICT sector development in both countries.

They also discussed the efforts of both countries to centralize the digitalization of public services and facilitate access to public services for all citizens, in cross-sectoral horizontal aspect.
