Deputy Minister Arifaj attended the launch of the Multi-dimensional Review of the Western Balkans

Prishtina, 22.04.2022 – The Deputy Minister of Economy, Mentor Arifaj, attended the launch of the OECD Multi-dimensional Review of the Western Balkans Report, an event which was also attended by Federico Bonaglia, Deputy Director of the OECD Development Center, Jan Rieländer, Head of Country Diagnostics and Strategy of the OECD Development Center, and Karin Hernmarck Ahliny, Ambassador of Sweden to Kosovo.
 
Deputy Minister Arifaj said that Kosovo and the Western Balkans countries are at an important crossroads in their development trajectory therefore creating opportunities and providing good living conditions are the key to making Kosovo and the region an attractive place to live and work.
 
Arifaj further added that the Multi-dimensional Review of the Western Balkans helps Kosovo and other economies in the region with policy recommendations and suggestions for participatory learning-based actions, serving as potential inputs for the design and implementation of various government strategies.
 
Deputy Minister Arifaj noted that the strategic priorities in the current Report, launched today, build the basis to create opportunities for all and to improve the quality of life: enhancing education and competencies for an economic and civic transformation, supporting cohesion within societies and ensuring a green transition that improves the environmental quality of life.
 
Otherwise, Multi-dimensional Review of the Western Balkans – From Analysis to Action offers great support to the Government of Kosovo and provides various recommendations, based on real data, and addresses barriers affecting economic development, and at the same time it provides instructions on how to implement such recommendations.
