Boards of Public Enterprises are trained for Corporate Governance

Prishtina, 25.05.2022 – The Policy and Monitoring Unit of Public Enterprises (PMUPE), in cooperation with IFC (World Bank), held a two-day training for Boards of Public Enterprises on “Corporate Governance of Public Enterprises.”

This training aims to provide successful expertise in the field of Corporate Governance and discuss its practical implications.

Visar Perani, IFC Kosovo Country Officer, by opening this training, assessed that the training of boards is of special importance as it will take into consideration the successful practices of Corporate Governance.

On this occasion, Adem Ahmetaj, Deputy Head of the PMUPE, stated that “The practices of different countries can serve as a good experience for the boards of Kosovo enterprises.” Discussing these practices will make more possible gaining of best practices in corporate governance, and all good ideas should be seen and adapted in your daily work.”

During the training, the participants, together with the World Bank Corporate Governance consultants as well as IFC officials, discussed the role of the boards of directors in public enterprises, the role of the state as owner, state-board relationship and communication, setting of priority policies, governance of environmental and social issues, internal control and risk management in POEs, among other things.
