Beqaj met with the Head of EBRD Office in Prishtina, Anton Kobakov

Prishtina, 30.01.2013 – Economic Development Minister, Besim Beqaj, met today with the Head of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office in Prishtina. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and find investment opportunities in water-supply companies and rural roads.

On this occasion, Minister Beqaj informed the EBRD Head of Office, Mr. Kobakov, drinking water, wastewater and solid processing are among the priority areas for investments.

“It is important to invest in drinking water, wastewater and solid processing, as they have a direct effect in the lives of citizens, hence we have given them a high priority”, said Minister Beqaj.

Ministri Beqaj also informed EBRD representatives on the possibility of a future implementation of public-private partnerships model in waste management publicly owned enterprises, as this is the best way to ensure successful implementation of their operations.

From his part, Kobakov expressed the readiness to assist in these projects which he considered to have a direct positive effect for the Kosovo citizens.
Road infrastructure in rural areas was also discussed in the meeting.
