Beqaj: Concrete engagement required for the decommissioning of TPP “Kosova A”

Prishtinë, 1 November 2012 – Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, called today for concrete engagement in the implementation of the Energy Strategy and obligations taken towards the European Commission and the Energy Community Secretariat, in terms of decommissioning the units of Thermal Power Plant Kosova A within the envisaged deadline.

To this end, Minister Beqaj met today with members of three working groups established in relation to the decommissioning of TPP Kosova A, requesting their prompt functionalization.

The working groups were asked to determine their agendas, which will delineate all activities in 2013 and which will be followed by MED representatives.

Line-ministries, European Commission and World Bank will be regularly informed on the steps undertaken as part of this activity.
