Pristhina, 27.01.2018 - The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, yesterday adopted the Energy Strategy 2017-2026, one of the most important documents that determine the developmental direction for the sector.

Prishtina, 24.01.2018 – Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, thanked the Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka, and other actors of the energy sector for their engagement to overcome a critical period in terms of electricity supply, and excluded the possibility of increasing prices of energy.

Prishtina, 22.01.2018 - The signing of the contract for the Kosova e Re Power Plant is the first right step to regulate the energy sector, as one of the main mechanisms for the country’s economic development, particularly for the production sector. Prishtina, 04.01.2018 – According to data from the Seismic Network, Kosovo Geological Survey and the Euro-Mediterranean Seismic Center, on 04/01/2018, at 11:54 local time, our country felt the 5.2 Richter scale magnitude (intensity VII in Mercalli scale) earthquake hitting Montenegro, and its lower intensity aftershocks (between 2.8 and 4 in Richter scale).

Convening under the Kosovo Presidency in Pristina today, the Energy Community Ministerial Council embarked on a process aimed at setting targets for renewable energy, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emission reduction for 2030 in the Energy Community. The Contracting Parties will be supported by guidelines for the preparation of integrated National Energy and Climate Plans, adapted to fit the specificities of the Contracting Parties and soon to be presented by the Secretariat to the Community’s Energy and Climate Committee. The new mechanism will ensure a robust framework for streamlined reporting and transparent implementation of energy and climate policies. Individual Contracting Parties, such as Albania, expressed their willingness to integrate their energy and climate planning already now.

Prishtina, 14.12.2017 - Operationalization of the regional energy market will comprise a strong instrument for the optimization of energy utilization in the best possible manner, which can’t be implemented prior to eliminating all problems, especially those pertaining to energy transmission, as is the case between Kosovo and Serbia, said the Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka.
