Prishtina, 31 March 2011 – Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, underlined the interest of Republic of Kosovo to further expand the inter-state cooperation with Kuwait in implementing common development projects in the sphere of economy, while remaining convinced that this country will soon take the steps necessary to recognize Kosovo’s independence.

Prishtina, 21 March 2011 – Privatization of the Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo represents part of the structural economic reform of the country, said today the Minister of Economic Development (MED) Besim Beqaj, in the introductory meeting of the Government Committee for the Privatization of the Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo (PTK) with representatives of the donor community, International Monetary Fund, representatives of the embassies of the Quint countries, and ambassadors of the mother countries of investors interested in PTK.

Prishtina, 21 March 2011 – The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Prishtina, Robert Bosch, promised the support of his country for Kosovo in relation to the restitution of the agreement on preferential trading between Kosovo and the European Union. Other items of discussion during the meeting of the Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, with Ambassador Bosch included the bilateral cooperation of the two countries, with special emphasis on the economic sphere, which is covered by MED.

Prishtina, 18.03.2011 – Mr. Besim Beqaj, Minister of Economic Development, received the reconfirmation of Austrian and Turkish diplomats in Kosovo on the continuing and furthering of politic and economic development, with special emphasis on the fields covered by MED.

PRISHTINA, 4 March 2011 – The Economic Development Minister (MED), Besim Beqaj, in a one-day visit to Great Britain has held several meetings with respective state representatives, and representatives of organizations and companies, looking for possibilities for an economic cooperation and implementation of different projects with the support of Britain’s national institutions.

Prishtina, 3 March 2011- The Economic Development Minister, Besim Beqaj, said that priorities of his Ministry shall be economic structural reforms and modernization of public enterprises, with the aim of increasing their efficiency in terms of services provided for the citizens, sustainable development of the energy sector, and enhancement and modernization of the Information and Communication Technology in line with European and international standards.

Prishtina, 24 February 2011 – The former Minister of Energy and Mining, Ms. Justina Shiroka-Pula handed over the responsibilities of this ministry to Besim Beqaj, Minister of Economic Development, as the former will not be incorporated in the latter ministry structures.
