Prishtina, 3 March 2011- The Economic Development Minister, Besim Beqaj, said that priorities of his Ministry shall be economic structural reforms and modernization of public enterprises, with the aim of increasing their efficiency in terms of services provided for the citizens, sustainable development of the energy sector, and enhancement and modernization of the Information and Communication Technology in line with European and international standards.

Prishtina, 24 February 2011 – The former Minister of Energy and Mining, Ms. Justina Shiroka-Pula handed over the responsibilities of this ministry to Besim Beqaj, Minister of Economic Development, as the former will not be incorporated in the latter ministry structures.

Gjilan, 13 January 2011 – The Minister of Energy and Mining, Justina Shiroka – Pula, with the representative of the European Commission Liaison Office in Prishtina, Khaldoun Sinno, representative of the Health Ministry, Zenun Çelaj, Mayor of Gjilan, Qemajl Mustafa, and Gjilan Regional Hospital Director, Xhavit Hajdari, inaugurated the project on the implementation of the energy efficiency measures in this health facility.

Prishtina, 12 January 2011 – Minister of Energy and Mining, Justina Shiroka – Pula, with the Chief of Operations in the European Commission Liaison Office, Kjartan Bjornsson, and the Mayor of Prishtina, Isa Mustafa, have inaugurated the project on the implementation of the energy efficiency measures in the Electro-technical High School Gjin Gazulli and Primary School, Ismail Qemalji in Prishtina.

Prishtina, 14 December 2010 – The Minister of Economy and Finance Ahmet Shala, Minister of Energy and Mining Justina Shiroka – Pula and the Swiss Ambassador in Prishtina Lokas Berliger, signed an amended Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Government of the Swiss Confederation, on the Gjilan Transformer Station.

Prishtina, 26 November 2010 – The Minister of Energy and Mining (MEM), Municipality of Prishtina and GTZ inaugurated today the project “Implementation of energy efficiency measures in public institutions”, aiming to install efficient lighting bulbs in Prishtina.
