Prishtinë, 01.04.2015 - Energy represents an important sector and a prerequisite for economic development, therefore the Government is making efforts to harmonize its actions in order to ensure the generation of sufficient energy through the development of new generation capacities, and their combination with alternative energy sources and the concept of energy efficiency, said the Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci.
Prishtina, 30.03.2015 - Kosovo's energy generation capacities are obsolete, therefore there is an urgent need for new generation capacities, in order to ensure a sustainable electricity supply. Prishtina, 10.03.2015 - The Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci, and his Albanian counterpart, Minister of Energy and Industry of Albania, Damian Gjiknuri, accompanied by heads of transmission system operators and energy regulators of both countries, visited SS 400/220 - Kosovo B in Obiliq, to be closely informed on the works implemented for the interconnection line between Kosovo and Albania.

Initially a working group on legal/regulatory issues, working group on technical/operational issues and working group on commercial issues were established, to be composed of various experts from both countries.

In this vein, the World Bank and the Ministry of Economic Development of Kosovo have officially launched the first phase of a grant-financed technical assistance project entitled “Innovative and Green Growth for Rural Areas of Kosovo”, aimed at providing an analytical foundation for the extension of broadband Internet infrastructure to currently underserved rural municipalities of Kosovo, creating a sustainable platform for innovative and green growth.
