Prishtinë, 01.04.2015 - Energy represents an important sector and a prerequisite for economic development, therefore the Government is making efforts to harmonize its actions in order to ensure the generation of sufficient energy through the development of new generation capacities, and their combination with alternative energy sources and the concept of energy efficiency, said the Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci.

Prishtina, 30.03.2015 - Kosovo's energy generation capacities are obsolete, therefore there is an urgent need for new generation capacities, in order to ensure a sustainable electricity supply. However, it is important to invest in significant components of the electricity sector, such as Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources, said Minister of Economic Development Blerand Stavileci.

Prishtina, 10.03.2015 - The Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci, and his Albanian counterpart, Minister of Energy and Industry of Albania, Damian Gjiknuri, accompanied by heads of transmission system operators and energy regulators of both countries, visited SS 400/220 - Kosovo B in Obiliq, to be closely informed on the works implemented for the interconnection line between Kosovo and Albania.

Prishtina, 10.03.2015 – Both Kosovo and Albania are aware of the importance of the agreement on the establishment of a common market for the energy sector, which is essential element aand a prerequisite for economic development of both countries, said the Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci.

Prishtina, 10.03.2015 - After the establishment of the common electricity market between Kosovo and Albania, working groups are established to assist the work of the Steering Committee. Initially a working group on legal/regulatory issues, working group on technical/operational issues and working group on commercial issues were established, to be composed of various experts from both countries.

Prishtina, 10.03.2015 - Cooperation between Kosovo and Albania, in the area of electricity is starting to bear fruits. The lack of capacities and their complementarity forced the Ministry of Economic Development of Kosovo and the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Albania to establish the common energy market, as a common market area.

Prishtina, 24.02.2015 - Based on data of the Seismic Network of Kosovo Geological Service (MED) and Euro-Mediterranean Seismic Center, and the numeric analyses of the Kosovo Seismic Division, on 23.02.2015, around 22:04 local time, our country was hit by an earthquake of 3.8 magnitude in the Richter scale, respectively at V1/2 in Mercalli scale.
