Prishtina, 30.12.2015 – Finalization of the agreement with the US Company, Contour global, as the investor for the construction of “Kosova e Re” power plant, is the greatest success of the year in the energy sector, said the Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci. Stavileci made these comments in the concluding conference in 2015, where he presented the achievements of his Ministry during the year as well as the challenges faced. He noted that Energy and Information and Communication Technology are two strategic sectors where significant developments took place.

Prishtina, 18.12.2015 – The Government of Kosovo, represented by Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci, who is also the Chair of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) for the “Kosova e Re” Power Plant (KRPP), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the US investor Contour Global.

Prishtina, 17.12.2015 – Representatives of institutions of Kosovo, Albania, German Embassy, KfW, KOSTT and OST considered that the 400 kV Kosovo-Albania interconnection line is one of the most important energy projects, which will improve the energy system, and will create a special connection between the two countries, the region and the European Union. These comments were made during the inauguration ceremony of the project “Secondary regulation frequency-power Kosovo-Albania” and the completion of works on the 400 kV interconnection line until the border with Albania, organized today in NT 400/220 kV Kosovo B, in Kastriot.

Prishtina, 2015 – Implementation of energy efficiency measures entails numerous benefits, which can be summarized in the following five categories: diminishment of energy invoices, represents a cost-effective investment, provides positive environmental effects and simulates economic development, said the Minister of Economic Development Blerand Stavileci today during a presentation of a prefeasibility study on the Energy Efficiency Fund.

Prishtina, 20 Nov 2015 – Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Besa Zogaj-Gashi, met today with Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry of Albania, Ilir Bejtja, and the first advisor on energy, Entela Çipa, to discuss on an agreement for the provision of ancillary services (secondary regulation) between two countries. This process is of great significance for KOSTT’s membership in ENTSO-E, and the existing infrastructure was positively tested by operators of two countries – KOSTT and OSTT KESH. Deputy Ministers Gashi and Bejtja agreed that functionalization of this project requires the execution of a commercial agreement between KOSTT and OST.

Prishtina, 20 Nov 2015 – Minister of Economic Development Blerand Stavileci informed that the TPP Kosova e Re Project Steering Committee decided to announce American company Contour Global as the preferred bidder for the development of new electricity generation capacities (500MW), with an investment in excess of 1 billion euro, thus finalizing the project initiated over a decade ago.

Prishtina, 13.11.2015 - “Kosovo Geological Service has been informed and has monitored the natural gas source, in order to obtain information and provide a professional study on the area. In cooperation with ICMM officials, it has visited to scene and identified the phenomenon of this source of water outlet under pressure,” said Fidaim Sahiti, Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Geologic Service (KGS), during the two-day workshop on the topic “Presence and Perspective of Natural Gas Explorations in Torinë Location of Lipjan Municipality".

Prishtina, 10 November 2015 - After a great engagement and the last visit of the Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci, to the United States, the MED team, World Bank and Contour Global reached an agreement on items that were subject to the negotiations, thus opening way for the execution of the agreement which will award the American company the Preferred Bidder status.
