As of tomorrow, citizens can apply for subsidies for external thermal insulation, thermal insulation of roofs, and replacement of external windows and doors.

Prishtina, 07.08. 2023 – The Ministry of Economy (ME) and the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF) have launched the public call for the “Implementation of energy efficiency measures for individual residential houses” Project. This project aims to support household consumers through increasing energy efficiency in individual houses and is supported by the European Union, as part of the Emergency Package, provided through the Government of the Republic of Kosovo under the IPA III Financial Agreement.

The Project includes subsidizing the cost of implementing selected energy efficiency measures in residential houses, such as external house insulation, replacement of windows, front door and insulation of roof, according to minimum standards and criteria set by KEEF.

Subsidizing namely reimbursement of the cost of implementing the measures is limited to 45%, or the maximum amount of up to 5,500 Euro as the maximum possible limit for one house – individual beneficiary, intended only for private/household residence. Whereas up to 50% of the financing amount, when the property is co-owned by the spouses, or if the wife is the owner of the house.

The application will be made through the eKosova platform (ekosova.rks-gov.net) and will commence on 08 August 2023. Information about the announcement will be published from tomorrow on the website of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund.

This project aims to support household consumers by increasing energy efficiency in individual houses and reaches the amount of 10 million Euros.

At the conference held on the occasion of launching this call, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, said that we remain committed to treating the issue of efficiency as a priority and we have proven this not only by setting ambitious targets in the Energy Strategy, but also by concrete actions that we are undertaking for two years.

Rizvanolli highlighted that the launch of these measures will provide to the citizens a warmer environment in winter and cooler in summer, and this investment will directly affect the electricity bill for households, but also the need for subsidies in cases of crises that we have faced in the past years.

“All citizens will be able to benefit from a subsidy of 45% of the investment value, to renovate their houses, to make them more efficient. Citizens can apply for house renovation, which includes house insulation, replacement of doors, windows and roof insulation”, Rizvanolli said.

Minister Rizvanolli announced that next week, the Ministry of Economy will announce the calls for energy efficiency subsidies, which will include for the first time efficient household appliances, solar thermal water heating systems, and by the end of the month, calls for heating equipment will be launched.

The conference was also attended by the member of the Board of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund, Nora Arifi, the representative of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Alessandro Bianciardi, and other representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
