Prishtinë, 30.03.2017 – The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo approved the Draft law on ratification of cooperation agreement between the Republic of Kosovo Government represented by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Republic of Albania Council of Ministers, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Industry, for Exchange and/or allocation of regulatory reserve between the Transmission System Operator/TSO of the Republic of Albania and the Transmission and Market System Operator – KOSTT J.S.C.

Minister of Economic Development Blerand Stavileci while presenting the Draft law before the Assembly Members said that its purpose is cooperation between two governments, through responsible authorities for exchange and/or allocation of regulatory reserve between the Transmission System Operator (TSO) and the Transmission and Market System Operator – KOSTT.

“The main objective is to create a regulatory zone and integration into the regional mechanisms which would lead to implementation of cross-border trade, thus increasing the liquidity of electric energy market”, said Stavileci.

According to him, this would enable development of cooperation between energy systems of both countries in order to optimise the financial cost and increase the security of electric energy supply by fulfilling legal requirements of respective directives of EU Acquis, as a party signatory to the Energy Community Treaty.
