Construction Launched at Kramovik 105 MW Solar Park Following Ministry of Economy  Auction

Rahovec, July 15, 2026 – Following the first auction of the Ministry of Economy, the construction works for the photovoltaic solar park with a capacity of 105 MW in Kramovik, Municipality of Rahovec, were inaugurated today. This important investment marks a new step in fulfilling the objectives of the Republic of Kosovo for developing renewable energy and increasing energy security.

Participants at the launching ceremony were Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, Acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, Mayor of the Municipality of Rahovec, Smajl Latifi, representatives of the Lindja Solar project, Linda Helms and Destan and Avni Orllati, as well as partners from the energy sector.

Addressing the audience, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, emphasized: “The park will have a capacity of 105 megawatts for connection to the grid, which shows the size of the project and its importance for our energy system. The selection method and the competitive price show the turn that our government has brought to large energy projects: full transparency where everyone has access to all documentation, investors are informed in the same way, and compete under equal and clear conditions. This model has already been established and proven, so it will be maintained”.

Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, stated: “The path from auction to construction is not only about the work that is seen on the ground. Permits, studies, design, financing, equipment procurement and connection agreements do not always produce pictures, but without them not a single megawatt of energy would be produced. Rizvanolli further underlined that this investment is also a vote of confidence in Kosovo, its institutions and the future of our energy sector. This project combines the capital and experience of the Diaspora with the expertise of local and international companies.

On the other hand, the representative of the Lindja Solar project, Destan Orllati, highlighted: “Today we are not just starting a construction site, but we are also building several months of work, cooperation and trust. Such a project cannot be implemented by a single party; it is the result of trust and cooperation with the institutions of Kosovo. The opportunity to implement this project in Kosovo is an honor and a privilege. The solar park will produce electricity from renewable sources, but its importance goes beyond by contributing to the strengthening of Kosovo’s energy security, economic development and expansion of energy transition for the coming decades.”

This important process comes at a time when Kosovo is achieving concrete results in implementing reforms in the energy sector.

We recall that five companies and consortia participated in the competitive auction for the solar park: Orllati (VD) SA, Çalık–Limak Rahovec SPP Consortium, Güris İnşaat ve Mühendislik A.Ş., Akuo Energy SAS and Elsewedy Electric S.A.E., reputable companies from six countries, representing investors from Kosovo, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, France and Egypt. The winner was the Orllati Consortium originating in Switzerland and bringing together numerous international partners, with a winning price of EUR 48.88 /MWh.

The interest of international companies and the implementation of the process through an open and transparent dialogue, with multiple rounds of clarifications, demonstrated the high competitiveness and transparency of the auction.
