Prishtina, 25.06.2024 – The EU4Innovation Project is entering its final phase as we undertake the “Testing Plan” to test the final functionalities of the eID Kosova platform. This testing is crucial to ensure an ideal and secure digital identity service for all. Following successful testing, the platform will be handed over to the Government of Kosovo, specifically the Ministry of Economy, for public launch.

The eID Kosovo platform is otherwise open for integration with other online platforms, both from the public and private sectors.

Electronic service providers (such as e-commerce, e-voting, e-banking, e-school, e-health, e-business, e-tax, e-registration of property, telecommunications, etc.) will not need to develop additional authentication instruments.

By leveraging the features of the eID platform, e-service providers will be able to be part of the market much more quickly, offering users faster and more secure methods for authentication and high-level security.

Integrating their solutions with the Electronic Signature and Electronic Seal features of the eID platform, service providers will enhance the trustworthiness of their services, encouraging citizens and businesses to use e-services.

The electronic signature (eID) provides evidence of the origin, identity, and status of an electronic message, including the sender’s consent.

The electronic seal is used to replace the physical seal, certifying and protecting the origin of electronic documents or data, thereby ensuring their authenticity and integrity.

Technically, an electronic seal is the same as an electronic signature; the difference is that an electronic signature corresponds to a natural person or legal person/entity, while an electronic seal corresponds only to a legal person/entity (organization, business, or institution).
