Prishtina, 23.02.2024 – The Law on Electricity and the Draft Law on Energy are now open for public discussion on the platform for public consultations.

The purpose of the Law on Electricity is to establish rules and measures for the electricity sector, ensuring a secure, reliable, and high-quality supply of electricity at affordable and transparent prices for end consumers, and to address the climate challenges of the country.

Meanwhile, the purpose of the Draft Law on Energy is to establish the principles and general rules governing activities in the energy sector in the Republic of Kosovo to ensure a secure, sustainable, and high-quality energy supply and to create conditions for an open, transparent, and competitive market, offering affordable energy prices based on the market, protecting and empowering consumers, including protecting consumers in need, integrating energy from renewable sources, promoting gender equality in the energy sector, as well as improving and protecting the environment and climate.

The Law on Electricity and Draft Law on Energy will be open for discussion until 14.03.2024.
