Peja, 21.02.2024 – The Minister of Economy (ME), Artane Rizvanolli, accompanied by the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, and associates, visited the Regional Water Supply Company “Hidrodrini” sh.a., in Peja.

In addition to providing drinking water supply for 5 municipalities, Hidrodrini has also expanded to management of the sewerage network, now covering not only Peja but also Deçan, Junik, Istog, and Klinë, reaching a service length of 584km.

Following the operationalization of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Peja in 2022, with an investment of 22.1 million euros, wastewater is now pre-treated, contributing to the reduction of pollution in the Lumbardh River of Peja and preventing environmental damage and public health risks.

To observe closely the new wastewater transmission systems and wastewater treatment plant in Gorazhdec of Peja, the Minister, along with associates, visited this plant where they were welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer, Dri Cena, the Chair of the Board, Jusuf Nikqi, and other Board and Management members.

The Minister expressed her satisfaction with the functioning of this enterprise and stated that from Hidrodrini, we expect to continue its good work not only in the development of the enterprise but also in environmental protection.
