Prishtina, 11.03.2022 – The wind energy park “Selac Windpark” was inaugurated today in the villages of Selac and Bajgora, in Mitrovica.

This park has a total of 27 turbines which have an installed capacity of 105 megawatts per hour, or 10% of the installed capacity of the Republic of Kosovo, and reduces CO2 emissions by 247 thousand tons.

In addition to turbines, the project of over 170 million includes the construction of the substation in Bajgora and the overhead line network in the length of 19.4 kilometres, the upgrade of the KOSTT substation in Vushtrri, as well as investments in public infrastructure.

At the inauguration of the energy park it was said that the Green Agenda is one of the priorities of the Government, not only because of the importance in the process of integration of the Republic of Kosovo in the European Union, but especially because of the need to gradually reduce coal use, while maintaining energy independence.
