Prishtina, 23.02.2022 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, participated in the panel “Implementation of the Green Agenda in Kosovo” in the framework of the event “EU Industry Days 2022” organized by the European Investors Council in cooperation with the European Commission.

This panel, chaired by Neil Taylor, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Kosovo, was also attended by Linda Çavdarbasha, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Juan Zaratiegui, Deputy Head of Political Sector at the European Union Office in Kosovo, and Anita Kovacic, Director of Raiffeisen Bank.

Today’s event has sparked discussions on the green and digital transition, in support of strengthening the resilience of different sectors.

During the discussion, Minister Rizvanolli spoke about the development opportunities of the sector while we are facing global challenges. Among other things, Minister Rizvanolli mentioned that the Energy Strategy 2022 – 2031 has made one thing clear, the decarbonisation of the energy sector in Kosovo by 2050. The Minister of Economy emphasized that this should be achieved given the security of supply and financial affordability for final customers.

Furthermore, among others, the Minister shared the work that is being done in the development of regional cooperation for the energy sector, the Law on Renewable Energy Sources, the design of the pilot auction for renewable energy and the removal of institutional barriers to the development of renewable energy capacities and energy efficiency.
