Minister Rizvanolli opens the workshop for designing a compact program with MCC

 

Prishtina, 31.01.2022 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, together with representatives of her cabinet, representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers, as well as the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure held the first meeting of the workshop for the development of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact Program in Kosovo.

 

This workshop aims at the detailed design of the MCC Compact Program from which Kosovo benefits up to 200 million dollars for the development of the energy sector, in particular: energy accumulation and training of the workforce with special emphasis on increasing the participation of women in this sector.

 

During the meeting, Minister Rizvanolli emphasized that the priority for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is to invest in projects for stabilization of the energy system, such as the project for energy accumulation.

 

Further, Minister Rizvanolli emphasized that the aim of the Government through this project and continuous work in the sector is to ensure that the energy system is sustainable, enables the inclusion of renewable energy sources, and significantly increases the participation of women in this sector.
