Prishtina, 07.12.20021 – Today, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli and the Deputy Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Bejtja, opened the Conference for Integration of the Electricity Market.

During this conference, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Energy Regulatory Office of the Republic of Kosovo and the Energy Regulatory Entity of Albania on the mutual recognition of licenses for trading and supply.

In addition to increasing knowledge and promoting reforms in the energy sector, this event also contributes to maximizing the advantages of ALPEX and market merging and integration.

Minister Rizvanolli, Deputy Minister Bejtja and representatives of KOSTT, KEK, OST and KESH discussed about the security of electricity supply, decarbonization, diversification of energy sources through auctions and setting targets for decarbonization.

During the joint meetings, Rizvanolli and Bejtja agreed that Albania and Kosovo should stimulate the diversification of energy sources and create a common energy market with intensified work and concrete steps.
