Polish Minister for Climate and Energy, Michal Kurtyka, offers support to Minister Rizvanolli

 

Warsaw, 25.09.2021- During the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation forum, the Minister of Economy (MoE), Artane Rizvanolli, met with the Polish Minister for Climate and Environment, Michal Kurtyka.

 

Poland and Kosovo have encountered similar challenges and difficulties on the path to energy transition, especially in terms of carbon dependence.

 

While Poland is one of the countries with the highest energy transformation needs, it is also one of the countries with the highest ambitions in this regard.

 

Poland, over the past 10 years, has managed to reduce its dependence on coal by 10 pp, falling to 70% this year. Also, Poland from 2015 until today, has managed to increase the number of consumers from 4,000 to 600,000.

 

The Polish Minister, during the meeting, offered to support Kosovo and developments in the energy sector through the National Fund for Environmental Protection of Poland.

 

Further, during the meeting between Minister Kurtyka and Minister Rizvanolli, both discussed the experiences of Kosovo and Poland and how Kosovo can use the example of Poland as a valuable experience for energy transition.
