Minister Nitaj met with the management and the Board of Trepça

Prishtina, 19.01.2021 – The acting Minister of Economy and Environment (MEE), Muharrem Nitaj hosted today in a meeting the members of the Board and the management of Trepça.

During the meeting it was discussed about the problems that the Enterprise Trepça is facing in repaying the debts it owes to economic operators and in particular the debt it owes to KEDS for the energy spent.

Minister Nitaj has requested from the Board and management of Trepça to reduce costs as much as possible. It was also requested to consider the possibility of debt rescheduling.

Minister was also informed about the economic shock that Trepça has received from the economic crisis caused as a result of the pandemic, as there has been a large reduction in the selling price of the mineral concentrate.

Minister Nitaj requested that all possibilities be considered for the Trepça Enterprise to start operating profitably.
